Rescuer Vernon Unsworth sued the head of Tesla Elon Musk because the entrepreneur called him a pedophile and accused of marrying a 12-year-old girl.

Unsworth demands to pay him a minimum of $75,000 in compensation, and also to take out the Musk’s injunction, which will force him to “refrain from making further publication of the False and Defamatory Accusations.”

The conflict between Musk and Unsworth began on July 13, when the rescuer stated that the submarine of the entrepreneur was “completely useless” for saving children from a Thai cave and could not even overcome 50 meters. In response, Musk called the diver a pedophile and said that his submarine could go all the way to the children. Soon after, the businessman deleted tweets and apologized, and Unsworth promised to sue him.

On 5 September, Musk, in correspondence with the BuzzFeed publication via e-mail, again called Unsworth “a children’s rapist” and accused of marrying a 12-year-old girl. The entrepreneur said that he still hopes for a lawsuit from the diver.

In BuzzFeed News noted that it is unclear why Musk continues to consider Unsworth a pedophile. Head of Tesla did not provide any evidence for this version, and it was not possible to find any complaints about the diver in the past. Journalists learned that in fact the lawyer of the rescuer sent Musk a warning about a possible prosecution in early August.
