The shooting of the final season of the “Game of Thrones” has already been completed–HBO is starting work on the spin-off.
In October, the first prequel to the “Games of Thrones” will begin shooting in Northern Ireland–this was clarified thanks to the staff of the local studio Paint Hall. They told reporters that their next project would be the spin-off series of HBO, writes ScreenRent.
Little is known about the new project: presumably, the events of the prequel will unfold thousands of years before those described in the original picture. The title of the show has not yet been approved, but George R. R. Martin said he likes the “Long Night” option.
Last year the writer in his blog reported that HBO is working on several spin-offs of the “Game of Thrones”. According to him, all the shows will become prequels of the series, and the events of one of them will even unfold outside of Västerås. At the same time, the author noted that not all spin-offs will necessarily appear on the screens.
“You do not need to think that you will see all five, at least not immediately,” wrote George RR Martin. “No matter how I like the idea itself, HBO does not want to turn into the “Game of Thrones” channel. But we, quite possibly, will be able to see at least two or three pilot releases, which will be released in 2019 or 2020. The rest–after, if everything goes as well as we expect.”
