And detained a suspect in–yes, quite right–for money laundering.
During the search for illegal immigrants last week, police found a washing machine in a house in the western district of Amsterdam, whose drum was stuffed with bundles of bills totaling 350,000 euros. Nobody officially lived in the house.
Also, a 24-year-old young man was detained in the house, whose name was not disclosed, and one unit of firearms, a money-counting machine, and several mobile phones were seized.
According to the police, the detainee was charged with money laundering, illegal residence, and several other offenses.
